The tour performance undertaken by the Confucius Institute at the University of Liberia pulls its curtain in the Liberia City Hall. Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yue and a number of senators and representatives from the Liberian congress attended the show.

The audience were mesmerized in the colorful and diversified programs featuring Chinese elements such as folk songs, martial arts and calligraphy, which complemented the celebrations of Chinese Lantern Festival; in addition, students and volunteer teachers from the Confucius Institute starred in three programs: poetry recitation, fan dance and song medley. The fluency of the Liberian students in Chinese and their contagious stage presence sparked bursts of cheers and thunderous applause.

The tour performance was sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters and the Chinese Embassy in Liberia and coorganized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Liberia and Zhejiang International Studies University. The University of Liberia is the last stop of the tour performance, following performances in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon. The tour performances in Liberia were held at the University of Liberia, the transport company of UN Peace keeping forces in Liberia and the City Hall respectively.

The tour performances attracted thousands of spectators, brought not only a wonderful visual feast for the local people in Liberia and their interest in the Chinese language and culture, but also built a bridge of honesty, understanding and mutual trust. As President Sirleaf said after the performance: "Once again, thanks to the Confucius Institute for having brought us a colorful show and laid a solid foundation of friendship. I believe that the future prospects of bilateral cooperation and exchanges will be getting better and better! "
